2 SUSTAINABILITY

D1NZ Drifting: Pillar 2 - Sustainability

At D1NZ, our commitment to sustainability is about more than just reducing our impact; it’s about driving change within motorsport. In partnership with Motorsport NZ, SuperSprint, and industry leaders like Toyota NZ, we are dedicated to ensuring our events are not only thrilling but also environmentally responsible.

Offsetting Our Carbon Footprint:

Through our fundraising and donation program with Trees That Count, we’re actively offsetting the carbon footprint generated from tyre use and fuel consumption, contributing to a greener future for the communities where we race.

Innovative Energy Solutions:

We’re exploring and investing in biofuels, hydrogen, and other alternative energy sources to power our events sustainably. It’s about pioneering new approaches that will pave the way for a more eco-friendly motorsport experience.

Recycling & Waste Reduction:

D1NZ is implementing robust recycling programs to reduce waste from parts, tyres, and event materials, promoting the reuse and responsible disposal of resources. This also includes educational initiatives for teams and fans on recycling practices.

All Tyres at D1NZ Events get taken away and recycled form our drivers free of charge.

Through independent audits, we ensure we meet and exceed environmental and safety benchmarks, targeting continuous improvement each season.

Event Safety & Risk Management:
- Crafting detailed Health & Safety plans for all events to protect our teams, fans, and environments that are continually updated year on year.
Emissions Reduction:
- Regularly evaluating and adopting low-emission fuels and energy-efficient practices to lower our carbon footprint, many cars now run E85 gas.
Efficient Resource Use:
- Prioritizing energy, water, and resource efficiency in all our operations, from event setup to breakdown.
Pollution Prevention & Waste Management:
- Implementing strategies to prevent pollution, reduce waste, and ensure responsible recycling of all materials consumed through a D1NZ event.
Safe Handling of Materials:
- Establishing safe procedures for the storage, removal, and disposal of any hazardous materials to protect our people and the environment and ensuring they are recycled.
Proactive Accident Prevention:
- Developing swift response measures to handle accidents or spillages responsibly and safely.
